Ace is taken as 1 and 10 and all picture cards are taken as 0. The calculation of hand value is done by summing up the total value and then dropping the tens value. For example if all the cards in the hand totals up to sixteen the one is dropped from the ten’s place and the hand value is considered to be 6. The winner holds the highest score (nearest to 9) unless both banker and player have the same score in which which case the tie bet wins.
